Only 2% of Ukrainians have gambled in the past month, according to a study
15% of Ukrainians consider themselves gamblers, but only 2% of those surveyed had participated in gambling in the past month, and 5% in the past year.
According to the results of the first phase of a study on the impact of gambling on society, 84% of respondents do not consider themselves gamblers, and 83% stated that they had not experienced any negative effects from gambling.
Ukrainians cited the desire to win money (70%) as the most common reason for participating in gambling, followed by the thrill and strong emotions (41%). At the same time, 83% of those with gambling experience reported that they had already stopped gambling, most often due to a loss of interest.
Additionally, 78% of respondents believe that illegal casinos harm Ukraine’s economy, 74% support strengthening protections against gambling addiction, and 67% advocate for stricter government regulation of this sector.

Earlier, Ukraine’s State Agency PlayCity initiated proceedings to revoke the licenses of the online casino Betking, which operates through the legal entity SLOTS U.A. LLC.
The PlayCity State Agency decided to revoke the licenses of two gambling operators following an investigation that revealed their ties to an aggressor country. As a result, the Favbet Casino/Favbet Poker and Billionaire brands are effectively disappearing from the Ukrainian market.
