South Korea offers rewards for tips on illegal sports platforms
South Korea has introduced a reward system for reporting illegal sports betting platforms, with payments ranging from $10 for a website link up to $140,000 for information about platform organizers. This measure aims to combat unlawful sports betting and uphold the integrity of sports in the country.
The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) accepts verified reports through the Illegal Sports Toto Reporting Center portal. The reward amount depends on the significance of the information provided: up to $140,000 for data on organizers, up to $34,700 for fixed matches, up to $10,400 for ambassadors and players, $70 per bank account used for deposits, and $10 for each new website URL (with a $1,000 cap). Payments are made only after information is verified by Sports Toto experts.
By implementing this program, South Korea hopes to more effectively combat illegal activities in the sports sector by encouraging public cooperation in fighting corruption and fraud.
