Argentina plans to restrict gambling access for child support debtors
In Argentina, legislators have introduced a bill that would ban individuals listed as child support debtors from participating in casinos, bingo, betting agencies, and licensed online gambling platforms. This initiative aims to strengthen enforcement and encourage debt repayment by extending restrictions already in place in some provinces to the entire country.
Currently, 40–50% of marriages in Argentina end in divorce, with women initiating 60% of these separations. Implementing such restrictions could serve as an additional tool to pressure those who avoid paying child support.
The federal bill is expected to promote timely debt settlement and influence the financial responsibility of individuals registered as debtors.
