Sybiga will visit Sweden for talks with the foreign minister and meetings with NATO
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga will pay an official visit to Sweden on May 20–21.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
On May 20 in Stockholm, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy will hold bilateral talks with Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmér Stenegård.
The parties will discuss current issues of bilateral cooperation and the European agenda. Special attention will be paid to defense cooperation, countering security threats from Russia, Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union, and increasing pressure on the aggressor.
During his visit, Sibiga will also meet with the Ukrainian community in Sweden and visit Lund University, where he will deliver a public lecture on Ukraine’s role in shaping a new security architecture in Europe and the world.
In addition, there are plans to transfer to Ukraine authentic replicas of unique artifacts of Ukrainian cultural heritage, recreated by the Swedish side.
In Sweden, the captain of the detained oil tanker Jin Hui, which may be linked to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet,” has been arrested. The Chinese citizen is suspected of using forged documents and violating maritime regulations regarding the vessel’s seaworthiness.
Earlier, Swedish police officially arrested the vessel Caffa, which had been held in the country’s territorial waters for two months.
