Cosatu holds its 15th national congress in South Africa
The 15th national congress of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) is being held in Midrand, Gauteng province, South Africa. According to TimesLIVE, the event will run from Monday through Thursday.
Election of federation officials
Congress delegates are to elect Cosatu's president, first and second vice presidents, general secretary, deputy general secretary, and national treasurer.
The federation's current president is Zingiswa Losi. The positions of first and second vice presidents are held by Michael Shingange and Duncan Luvuno, respectively. The general secretary is Solly Phetoe, his deputy is Gerald Twala, and the national treasurer is Freda Osthuizen.
