Israel creates multilingual test for repatriates — Jerusalem Post

In Israel, 27-year-old repatriate from France Dan Finel created the knesset2026.com platform to help repatriates navigate ahead of the elections. Users are invited to answer 16 questions about their political views, after which the service shows the candidate whose positions most closely match their answers.

The project is available free of charge in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Hebrew, the Jerusalem Post reports. Finel explained that he created the test because of a lack of information about candidates in foreign languages for those who do not follow the news in Hebrew.

News and polls

In addition to the test, the platform sends users a daily selection of news about Israeli politics in their chosen language. At the end of the free newsletter, it also publishes an overview of the latest pre-election poll results. According to Finel, the questions on the website are regularly updated.

More current news is available on the UA.News Telegram channel Telegram.

The platform has already attracted more than 50,000 users, mostly aged between 25 and 40. Finel himself works as a data specialist at Similarweb and continues to improve his Hebrew skills. He also said that he will vote in Israel for the first time on October 27.

Move from France

Finel grew up in Paris and visited Israel every year from the age of six. While studying at a French business school, he completed a six-month internship in Israel through the Masa Israel Journey program. He chose the Israel Tech Challenge program, which helps young professionals and students from abroad begin careers in Israel's technology sector.

His arrival, initially scheduled for October 9, 2023, was postponed until November. He officially made aliyah in September 2024. Finel called the upcoming elections important because of, in his words, deep social divisions in the country, and said that he seeks to promote greater understanding among Israelis.
