Dubai to award $1 million for best AI film — The National

In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a $1 million prize will be awarded for the best film created using artificial intelligence at the 1 Billion Followers Summit. The award will be presented as part of a competition sponsored by TikTok owner ByteDance and its AI content creation platform Seedance.

The summit will take place on January 8–10, 2027. The National reported on the event’s program.

Restrictions for children

One of the key topics of the meeting will be upcoming restrictions on social media use for children aged 15 and younger in the UAE. According to the publication, the relevant legislation is set to take effect in 2027 and will require support from schools, parents, and society.

Participants will also discuss the growing commercialization of content and the development of the profession of digital content creators and influencers.

Market for content creators

Saeed Al Eter, chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, said the summit’s goal is to strengthen the country’s position as a hub for content creation. He called the content creation economy one of the main topics of the upcoming event.

The three-day program includes a separate day dedicated to Instagram. The Creators Market is also expected to bring together about 100 major companies with content creators to explore future commercial opportunities.
