Arthur Fils beats Flavio Cobolli to reach Cincinnati final
French tennis player Arthur Fils defeated Italy's Flavio Cobolli 6:3, 6:4 in the Cincinnati Open semifinal and advanced to the tournament final. The match in Mason, Ohio, lasted 67 minutes.

Cobolli, seeded seventh, took a 2:1 lead early in the first set after a break. However, Fils immediately broke back and leveled the score at 2:2. At 3:3, the Frenchman moved ahead and secured the decisive break in the eighth game after errors by the Italian from the baseline.

In the second set, 21st seed Fils broke his opponent's serve in the opening game. Cobolli held serve to love at 4:3 in the Frenchman's favor, but Fils moved ahead again at 5:4 and ultimately closed out the match with a victory. The Frenchman controlled the game with sharp forehands and recorded 22 winners and six aces.
