Bournemouth make European debut in San Sebastian — Asharq Al-Awsat
English club Bournemouth will begin its first European season on Thursday, September 17, with an away Europa League match against Spain's Real Sociedad in San Sebastian, Spain. The team finished the previous Premier League season in sixth place, a record result for the club.
First match in Europe
Marco Rose's team has not yet secured a single victory at the start of the new season. Bournemouth captain Adam Smith, according to the Associated Press as cited by Asharq Al-Awsat, said that the players must remain humble, focus on every match and aim to go as far as possible in the tournament.
Real Sociedad return to European competition after a one-year break. The Spanish club qualified for the competition by winning the Copa del Rey, which was the fourth such triumph in its history.
