Borussia Dortmund come back from 0:2 down against Hoffenheim

Borussia Dortmund defeated Hoffenheim 3:2 in Sinsheim, Germany, coming back after conceding two goals. The decisive moment was an own goal by home defender Albian Hajdari four minutes before the end of the match.

As Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters, Hoffenheim took a 2:0 lead 10 minutes into the second half thanks to goals from Tim Lemperle and Leon Avdullahu. Serhou Guirassy reduced the deficit, and Fabio Silva equalised in the 66th minute. Later, Hajdari, attempting to clear a low pass in the penalty area, sent the ball into his own net.

Second win at the start

For Dortmund, this victory was their second in two opening matches of the season. In another match of the day, Bundesliga newcomer Elversberg won 4:3 away against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Elversberg were reduced to 10 men in stoppage time at the end of the first half when Vincent Wagner received a second yellow card. The home side went into the break with a 2:1 lead: Hugo Bolin scored twice, while David Moka scored for the visitors. After the break, Joe Scally made it 3:1, but Maurice Krattenmacher and Felix Keidel levelled the score. In the 92nd minute, Krattenmacher scored the winning goal.

Bayer Leverkusen thrashed Union Berlin 4:0 to earn their first points of the season. Ezequiel Fernandez opened the scoring in less than a minute, Facundo Medina scored before the break, and Patrik Schick and Ibrahim Maza found the net in the second half.

Werder defeated RB Leipzig 3:1 thanks to goals from Eren Dinkci, Niclas Füllkrug and Marco Grüll. Freiburg beat Paderborn 1:0, with Maximilian Eggestein scoring the only goal in the first half.
