Erling Haaland unveils a new short haircut
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland swapped his familiar long blond hair for a very short haircut ahead of the start of the new English Premier League season. The footballer showed off his new look on social media and captioned the post: “New season, new haircut,” BBC Sport reports.
Haaland’s new hairstyle
Before getting his haircut, Haaland joked by showing photos of his previous hairstyles throughout his career and possible options for a new look. In the video, he initially looked worried as the barber cut off the first lock of hair, but later smiled when he saw the result.
BBC notes that Haaland had not worn short hair since playing for Borussia Dortmund. Previously, the forward often tied his long blond hair into a bun.

Reactions to the change of look
After the haircut, the 26-year-old Norwegian called his Manchester City teammate Jack Grealish, the club’s former head coach Pep Guardiola, and Oasis musician Noel Gallagher. Gallagher said Haaland looked about 17 years old and added that change is good. Grealish and Guardiola also said they liked the new hairstyle.
Haaland also called former Sweden national team forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Before the call, he joked that Ibrahimovic had advised him never to cut his long hair. Ibrahimovic did not approve of the footballer’s decision and asked: “What have you done? Did you lose a bet or what? Block me and delete my number.”
