Fedetskyi named the players who could strengthen the Ukrainian national soccer team
Former Ukraine national team defender Artem Fedetskyi assessed the national team’s roster for the Nations League matches and named players who could strengthen the squad under Andrea Maldera’s leadership.
According to the former player, Lviv “Karpaty” midfielder Denys Kostenko—who made a strong impression at the start of the championship but suffered an injury, as well as Yegor Yarmolyuk, whose absence has been a loss in terms of rotation and physicality.
In addition, Fedetskyi highlighted the performances of Volodymyr Vantukh and drew attention to the absence of Ivan Kalyuzhny from the roster: “Surely, the question remains: where is Kalyuzhny? Why didn’t Maldera call him up? That’s his personal decision. There are candidates, there are players, and there is a coaching staff who communicate with one another, hold meetings, and decide on the final roster.” Currently, the Ukrainian national team is competing in the second division of the Nations League and is preparing for its final November matches against Northern Ireland and Georgia.
