Yarmolenko has tied Shats'kikh and is one step away from the Ukrainian league record
Andriy Yarmolenko scored against “Epicenter” in the 6th round of the UPL and made Ukrainian soccer history.
For the 36-year-old winger, this goal was his 124th in Ukraine’s top division.
Yarmolenko scored in the 42nd minute off a pass from Mykola Shaparenko. The Dynamo captain fired the ball from a sharp angle just under the crossbar to open the scoring in the match.
Thanks to this goal, the player tied former Dynamo forward Maksym Shatskikh, who had previously held sole possession of the top spot on the list of all-time leading scorers in Ukrainian league history.
Now Yarmolenko needs to score just one more goal to become the highest-scoring player in the history of the Ukrainian championships. He could also surpass Serhiy Rebrov, who has 123 goals.
