Frank Lampard's Coventry City beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in an away English Premier League match in Nottingham, England. It was the club's first Premier League victory in 25 years, Channel NewsAsia reports.

Dasilva goal and Forest strike disallowed

Jay Dasilva scored the only goal in the 55th minute. He controlled a long pass from goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, moved inside and fired past home goalkeeper Matz Sels.

Late in the match, Igor Jesus appeared to equalise for Nottingham Forest. However, following a VAR review, the goal was disallowed: Jesus caught the leg of Caleb Yirenkyi, causing the midfielder to stumble.

First points of the season

Before that, Coventry had lost their first four matches of the season, including away games against Arsenal and Manchester City. After a 0-5 home defeat to Brighton, the team had no points or goals scored, with a goal difference of minus 10.

Lampard said the victory was important for the players, many of whom are playing in the Premier League for the first time. According to him, the team should remain calm, as this is only one win, although having zero points after four opening defeats was a painful result.

Coventry's previous Premier League win came against Sunderland in April 2001. A few matches later, the club was relegated from the top division, ending a 34-year spell there.
