Kudus to miss Ghana’s Africa Cup qualifiers — MyJoyOnline
In Ghana, footballer Mohammed Kudus will not take part in the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Côte d’Ivoire and Gambia. The 26-year-old player was included in the 24-man national team squad announced by head coach Carlos Queiroz.
Recovery at Tottenham
As MyJoyOnline reports, Kudus decided to focus on completing his recovery at Tottenham, as well as returning to optimal physical shape and match fitness before his next call-up to the national team. According to the outlet, the Ghana Football Association and Queiroz have already been informed of this decision.
Kudus recently returned to English Premier League action after a lengthy injury layoff. In the match against Aston Villa, which Tottenham lost 2-3, he came on after the break and assisted Conor Gallagher in the 86th minute. Earlier, the footballer started for Tottenham for the first time since January in the English League Cup match against Liverpool.

Seven months out of action
The footballer missed seven months due to a serious thigh muscle injury sustained in January. In April, Tottenham reported a delay in his recovery and the need for additional consultations with specialists. Due to the injury, Kudus also missed Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Kudus played his last match for the national team on October 12, 2025. He then scored the winning goal in a World Cup qualifier against the Comoros Islands, which Ghana won 1-0 in Accra. Ghana will play Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké on September 24, host Gambia on September 29, and play a friendly against Morocco on October 4.
