Mirra Andreeva reaches WTA 1000 quarterfinals in Beijing — Interia Sport

Russian Mirra Andreeva defeated Ukrainian Daria Snigur in the fourth round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing, China. The match ended 6:2, 6:2 in favor of the fourth seed and lasted 63 minutes.

Two sets with the same score

Snigur lost her serve at the start of the first set, after which Andreeva took a 2:0 lead. The Ukrainian tennis player had no break points on her opponent's serve, and the Russian won the set 6:2.

In the second set, Snigur again lost the opening game on her own serve. At 0:2, she saved a break point, and in the fifth game she had an opportunity to break, but did not convert it. Andreeva finished the set with the same score — 6:2.

Snigur's path at the tournament

As Interia Sport reports, Daria Snigur, who is ranked 46th in the WTA rankings and trains under David Celta, began her campaign in Beijing with a victory over Katarzyna Kawa. She later knocked out seeded Jasmine Paolini and defeated Taylah Preston 6:1, 6:0 in the third round.

In the quarterfinals, Andreeva will face the winner of the match between Linda Noskova and Ekaterina Alexandrova.
