Mussolini's great-grandson made his debut for Lazio at the stadium that his great-grandfather opened

23-year-old Romano Floriani Mussolini made his debut for Rome’s Lazio in a Serie A match against Bologna.

Floriani Mussolini is a product of Lazio’s youth academy, but since 2023 he has played for other Italian clubs on loan.

In the match against Bologna, the defender entered the game in the 19th minute, replacing a teammate. He also received a yellow card during the game.

Romano Floriani Mussolini is the great-grandson of Benito Mussolini, who led the Fascist regime in Italy from 1922 to 1943 and was one of the founders of Italian Fascism.

At the same time, the player’s debut for Lazio has a symbolic historical context: Benito Mussolini personally inaugurated the Bologna stadium in October 1926.

As a reminder, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is considering signing a new center back, as Ukrainian Ilya Zabarnyi has failed to meet the coaching staff’s expectations. The club believes he has not demonstrated sufficient reliability and maturity on defense.
