The Ukrainian gave her opponent credit but was also satisfied with her own performance. “Maria is a wonderful tennis player and a very tough opponent. So I had to play my best tennis and try to find ways to impose my game and turn the score in my favor,” Svitolina said.
According to the tennis player, she was particularly pleased with her performance on serve. It was her confident play at crucial moments that helped the Ukrainian secure the match. “I’m very happy with how I played today and how I served. Last week, she played in Shenzhen, where she had several intense matches. “Well, it’s good that I was able to play a few matches. Last week I played for the team in Shenzhen and had several very intense battles there,” Svitolina said.
She added that her first-round match in Beijing was also challenging. That’s why every extra hour on the court right now helps her get a better feel for her game. “So the fact that I’m spending a little more time on the court here and trying to find my rhythm definitely helps me get into the flow and play good tennis,” the tennis player explained.
