In the UK, England captain Brook scores a century in win over Sri Lanka
England's cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by 119 runs in the first of three Twenty20 internationals on September 15 in Southampton, United Kingdom. According to Channel NewsAsia, England finished their innings at 254/4 and set their opponents a target of 255 runs.
Brook's century
England captain Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 114 runs. He reached his century in 42 balls, while his final score of 114 from 49 balls became Brook's personal best in Twenty20 internationals.
This was Brook's second century at international level in this format. He also matched the second-fastest score by an English player to reach 100 runs in T20 cricket. In one over, Brook scored 30 runs: a six, two fours, two sixes and another four. He reached his half-century in 20 balls.

Jos Buttler scored 80 runs and reached the 50-run mark in 29 balls. He was dismissed with England on 159/2, while Tom Banton left the field at 195/3.
Sri Lanka's response
Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to field. In the first six overs of their reply, the team stood at 32/3: Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara and Lahiru Udara were dismissed cheaply. At the halfway point of the innings, the visitors were 71/5, while England had been 134/1 at the same stage.
Sonny Baker was the best of the hosts' bowlers. In his second Twenty20 international at his home ground in Southampton, he took three wickets for 12 runs.
