Usyk met with the European champion and defended his WBC title
Oleksandr Usyk visited the Balkans, where he took part in a prestigious conference and a charity auction. During the event, the boxer met with the leader of one of the European countries and sold his WBC belt.
The undefeated Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk visited Montenegro, where he met with the country’s head of government, Milojko Spajić. The athlete’s trip featured a packed schedule, including a public appearance at a major forum and charitable initiatives.
Oleksandr Usyk’s visit to Montenegro was dedicated to his participation in the Connectuj.me conference, which took place on September 18–19. The event brought together representatives from sports, business, and other fields. The Ukrainian champion addressed the audience with a special speech titled “Legacy of a Champion.”
During his speech, the boxer shared memories of his journey to global recognition and emphasized the importance of discipline, faith, and leadership. In addition to the official program, Usyk visited the famous Orthodox monastery in Ostrog and spoke with local media.
The country’s Prime Minister, Milojko Spajić, publicly thanked the Ukrainian for his visit and his warm words about Montenegro, calling him a symbol of an unbreakable spirit.
In addition to the business portion, the Ukrainian athlete’s trip had social and charitable goals. A special auction organized by the Usyk Foundation was held as part of the forum. Among the lots were a replica of the WBC belt and a pair of boxing gloves signed by the champion, and the proceeds will go to help those affected by the war in Ukraine.
A particularly touching moment was the visit to the Ukrainian Embassy in Montenegro. There, the champion met with Ukrainian diplomats, volunteers, and children who had been forced to flee abroad due to the full-scale war. Usyk answered the children’s questions, shared stories from his life, signed autographs, and took commemorative photos.
According to the conference organizers, the boxer promised to return to Montenegro again.
