Anthropic launches Docs and Slides tools in Claude
Anthropic is launching beta Docs and Slides tools for its AI platform Claude, enabling users to create documents and presentations directly in the chat. The materials created can be exported, edited manually or with Claude, and shared with other users, The Verge reports.
Collaborative work on documents
Claude Docs will operate on a principle similar to Google Docs: documents will initially be private, but users will be able to give other people access for simultaneous editing. Co-authors, as well as Claude, will be able to leave comments similar to those in Google Docs.
According to Anthropic, everything created with Claude Design, Slides, or Docs will be available through a single sharing link that can be opened from a phone. The new Docs and Slides have joined Claude Design in the platform's productivity toolset.

A unified Claude interface
At the same time, Anthropic is combining regular Claude chats and Cowork into a single interface called “one Claude.” All productivity tools, including Artifacts and Claude Design capabilities, are expected to be available from any chat.
The company said Claude will be able to determine which tools are needed for a specific task using available context, skills, and connectors. The update will first roll out to Pro and Max subscribers in the web version, desktop, and mobile apps over the coming weeks. Team plan and free-version users are expected to gain access later.
Previously, Google expanded Gemini's capabilities in Docs, Sheets, and Slides, including by adding Gemini chat to Docs, features for creating and editing entire documents, and presentation generation. In The Verge's view, Claude's new tools narrow the gap between Anthropic's platform and Google's suite of office services.
