What is most impressive about Armenia
My trip to Yerevan and participation in MAC Yerevan 2026 left me with very strong and, at the same time, mixed impressions.
First of all, I would like to highlight the people. After traveling extensively around the world, I can honestly say that Armenia is home to some of the warmest, kindest, and most hospitable people I have ever met. The people became the most memorable part of my visit.
What impressed me most was their generosity and hospitality. On several occasions, local people offered help, invited guests to join them, or even insisted on paying restaurant and café bills. What made this particularly remarkable was the understanding that, for many of them, these expenses were not insignificant. Yet they were still willing to share what they had with genuine sincerity and kindness.
This type of generosity has become increasingly rare in today’s world. It is something that immediately stands out, stays in your memory, and genuinely touches your heart. Everywhere I went, I felt a sincere desire to help, welcome, and make visitors feel comfortable. More than anything else, it was this warmth and openness that defined my experience of Armenia.
The country’s natural beauty is equally impressive. Armenia offers breathtaking mountain landscapes, snow-capped peaks, stunning panoramas, and the unforgettable sight of Mount Ararat rising in the distance. Even while staying in Yerevan, you constantly feel surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and nature.
At the same time, it is impossible not to notice certain challenges. The legacy of the Soviet era is still visible throughout the country, whether in infrastructure, architecture, public spaces, or certain aspects of daily life. There is also a noticeable contrast between wealthy individuals and those living much more modestly. For visitors who spend most of their time in Western Europe, these contrasts are immediately apparent.
Nevertheless, I also sensed a strong desire among many Armenians to move forward, modernize, develop businesses, embrace innovation, and strengthen integration with the global economy. This was particularly visible among younger generations, entrepreneurs, and people working in technology-related industries.
The lively atmosphere at MAC Yerevan 2026
As for MAC Yerevan 2026 itself, the conference left a positive impression. The event was well organized, attendance appeared strong, and the overall atmosphere was energetic and welcoming. Unlike some large international exhibitions where engagement has recently declined, MAC felt active, vibrant, and full of networking opportunities.
A significant number of attendees came from countries across the former Soviet region, which gave the conference a unique character compared to traditional Western European fintech events. In many ways, this diversity made the event particularly interesting for networking and exploring emerging markets.
For me personally, MAC Yerevan was not only a business event but also an opportunity to better understand Armenia, its people, and its culture. Experiences like these often stay with you much longer than business meetings or signed agreements.
Looking ahead, it will be particularly interesting to compare MAC Yerevan with upcoming events such as G Gate in Georgia and iGB L!VE in London. Such comparisons will provide a clearer picture of where international business activity is growing and how the global conference industry continues to evolve.
