Beijing tops China's city ranking for AI computing power — ECNS
In China, Beijing ranked first among cities for artificial intelligence computing power in 2026. Hangzhou and Shenzhen took second and third place respectively, ECNS reports, citing a joint IDC and Inspur Information report presented in Beijing.
Ranking leaders
Beijing retained its lead thanks to a developed computing-resource supply chain and a high concentration of companies working on artificial intelligence models and applications. Hangzhou ranked second due to its AI business cluster, strong internet industry, and continued development of large models and embodied artificial intelligence.
Shenzhen ranked third. The report links its position to the city's strengths in AI servers and computing chips.

Market development forecast
The study's authors forecast that China's intelligent computing capacity will reach 2,576.5 EFLOPS in 2026, 87.9% more than a year earlier. By 2030, this figure is projected to grow to 10,524.3 EFLOPS.
According to the report's estimate, China's AI computing market is expected to reach $51.5 billion in 2026, up 37% year on year. By 2030, it is projected to grow to $150.1 billion. The report also notes that the rapid spread of AI agents is increasing token consumption and demand for computing resources, shifting competition in AI infrastructure from capacity expansion to improving system efficiency.
