SK hynix launches venture brand in Silicon Valley — Korea Herald
Memory chip manufacturer SK hynix has launched its corporate venture brand, SK hynix Ventures, in Silicon Valley, United States. The company intends to expand investments in artificial intelligence technologies and next-generation AI infrastructure, Korea Herald reports.

The new brand was unveiled at the first SK hynix Ventures Day event, held in Silicon Valley. It was attended by SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung, other company executives, startup representatives and venture investors specializing in AI computing, data centers and related technologies.
Participants discussed investment opportunities and technology partnerships. Startup representatives also shared their views on the development of AI infrastructure, including computing systems, memory systems, software solutions and optical technologies designed to improve the performance and energy efficiency of data centers.

Investment areas
SK hynix has operated a corporate venture structure since 2015. It invests in the semiconductor sector and new technologies through direct investments and fund commitments, and also operates in technology markets in the United States, China, Israel and Japan.
According to SK hynix, the cumulative returns from its venture investments have exceeded twice the total amount invested. The company also said that cooperation with portfolio companies has helped it identify new supply chains and customers, including through joint equipment development and proof-of-concept projects.
SK hynix Ventures will focus on AI computing, data center infrastructure, system software and optical interconnects. The company plans to expand its role beyond technology scouting and develop cooperation across the broader artificial intelligence ecosystem.
