SpaceX has completed the acquisition of the AI startup Cursor

SpaceX has officially completed its acquisition of Cursor, a startup that develops artificial intelligence tools for programming. Cursor announced the closing of the deal on its blog, according to TechCrunch.

In April, SpaceX and Cursor announced a partnership to develop technologies. The agreement also included an option for SpaceX to acquire Cursor for $60 billion. Two months later, after SpaceX went public, the parties stated that they were moving toward finalizing the acquisition.

In its announcement regarding the deal’s closing, Cursor repeatedly mentioned SpaceX’s computing infrastructure. According to TechCrunch, the company leases its computing power to clients such as Anthropic and Google.

Cursor stated that, following its acquisition by SpaceX, it will gain access to the world’s largest fleet of graphics processing units. The startup also noted that SpaceX’s computing power is needed to scale AI, and Cursor will be one of the places where these capabilities will be applied.
