Telegram will warn users about the use of unofficial clients
Telegram plans to add a notification indicating that the other user is using an unofficial client.
This was reported by the industry publication Code Durov.
Along with the label, users will receive a warning about potential security risks:
“[User] is using an unofficial Telegram client—messages sent to this user may be less secure.”
The exact date of the feature’s implementation is not yet known. The official Telegram team has not yet commented on plans for this feature.
Recently, Mikhail Oseevsky, head of the Russian company Rostelecom, claimed there had been a sharp drop in traffic on the Telegram messenger.
The Penza City Hall banned a protest against the blocking of Telegram, scheduled for March 29 in the local Hyde Park. Activist Ivan Finogeyev reported that officials justified the refusal by stating that an open rollerblading training session would be taking place at the same time.
