Vocci unveils $249 ring for recording meetings — TechCrunch
Vocci has unveiled a lightweight ring for recording conversations and creating notes with AI. The device weighs less than 6 grams, costs $249, and is primarily designed for capturing meetings, TechCrunch reports.
Recording and battery life
The ring has a button: a double press starts recording, while another double press stops it. Holding the button allows users to ask Vocci AI questions, though this feature works only when the app is open. The device also has a light indicator and a vibration motor for feedback during recording.
The manufacturer claims up to eight hours of recording on a single charge. A plastic charging case is included and can recharge the ring up to three times. The device's inner and outer surfaces contain titanium material; TechCrunch suggests that this may be a coating.

Transcripts and app
When tested in noisy cafes, the ring was able, according to the publication, to turn most conversations lasting more than an hour into accurate text transcripts. At the same time, this method proved less convenient for short notes.
The Vocci app includes Chat with the main transcript, Highlights for short fragments marked during recording, and Notes with a summary and conclusions about the conversation. The publication noted a confusing interface: in particular, AI-generated conclusions after short notes were sometimes longer than the recordings themselves. The app also lacks direct integration with reminder services.
Privacy concerns
The ring format raises privacy concerns because the device outwardly resembles an ordinary piece of jewelry, while the recording light indicator faces the wearer. The company said it encourages users to notify conversation participants about recording. TechCrunch notes that in some countries and regions, warning about recording a conversation is required by law.
