Clucky app offers rooster sound and tasks to turn off the alarm

The new Clucky alarm app for iPhone offers users the option to wake up to a rooster’s crow and complete tasks before turning off the alarm. As TechCrunch reports, the service is designed for people who often snooze their alarms and fall back asleep.

Tasks to turn off the alarm

After the alarm goes off, the user must complete one of the missions. These include solving math problems, memorizing and tapping tiles in the correct sequence, entering a phrase suggested by Clucky, shaking the phone, walking, doing push-ups, and guiding a ball to a target by tilting the device.

The app also includes tasks using the camera and artificial intelligence. Its concept is to make simply turning off the alarm inconvenient enough that the user has to wake up completely.

Sounds, statistics and groups

In addition to a rooster, Clucky offers calm chimes, bird sounds and a standard digital alarm. An Extra Loud Mode is available, which immediately increases the alarm volume.

The app has a statistics section: it shows the average duration of the alarm until a mission is completed, the number of completed tasks and the total number of wake-ups. The weekly Rooster Report evaluates the user’s results.

Users can also create private Nest or Flock groups with friends or family to wake up at the same time and maintain mutual discipline. Clucky was founded by former Fanatics software engineer Adrian Angelo Abelarde. The app is available in the App Store, and an annual Pro subscription costs $39.99.
