84% of Ukrainians support revoking the driving privileges of habitual traffic violators
84% of Ukrainians support revoking the driver’s licenses of people who systematically commit dangerous traffic violations.
This includes, in particular, significantly exceeding the speed limit, running red lights, and failing to yield to pedestrians.
Another 79% of respondents support criminal liability for drivers who continue to drive after having their licenses revoked.
Additionally, 77% of respondents support a significant increase in fines for speeding. Even among those who drive regularly, 65% support this initiative.
58% of Ukrainians believe that penalties should apply for exceeding the speed limit by more than 10 km/h, rather than 20 km/h, as is currently the case.
The Info Sapiens survey, commissioned by the Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law, was conducted August 8–23, 2026. It included 1,000 Ukrainians aged 16 and older. The margin of error does not exceed 3.1%.
