Current Fruit Prices in Ukraine as of August 5
As of August 5, prices for most fruits and berries in Ukraine have remained stable. At the same time, strawberries, sweet cherries, and blueberries remain among the most expensive seasonal berries, according to data from the “Stolichny” market in Kyiv.
Currently, apples are selling for 28–50 UAH per kilogram, bananas for 60–65 UAH, oranges for 50–130 UAH, and lemons for 100–120 UAH. Strawberries and cherries cost 130–160 UAH/kg, while blueberries cost 150–200 UAH/kg. Among melons, watermelons are selling for 7–10 UAH per kilogram, and cantaloupes for 18–25 UAH per kilogram.
Over the past few days, strawberries have seen the sharpest price drop—their average price has fallen by approximately 17.7% compared to the end of July. Sweet cherries have become 3.3% cheaper. At the same time, blueberry prices have fallen by nearly three times since the beginning of July—from 300–350 UAH/kg to about 160 UAH/kg.
Prices for plums (about 25 UAH/kg), pears, apricots, and nectarines (an average of 60 UAH/kg) remain largely unchanged. Raspberries continue to cost 200–250 UAH per kilogram.
Experts predict that prices for imported fruits, particularly bananas and oranges, will depend on the hryvnia exchange rate. At the same time, apples may temporarily become more expensive due to a reduction in stocks from last year’s harvest; however, a higher yield is expected in the new season, which could lead to an 11–20% drop in wholesale prices in the first half of 2027.
Apricots may rise in price after the end of the main harvest season, while raspberries and blueberries are forecast to remain expensive due to the impact of spring frosts and summer heat on the harvest.

As a reminder, most Ukrainian fruit growers expect wholesale prices for apples to decline in the second half of the 2026/2027 season. The reasons cited include an increase in the harvest, higher logistics costs, and rising production in other countries.
In Ukraine, in August 2026, buckwheat may rise in price to 80–83 hryvnias per kilogram. Despite a slight decrease in price in July, there are currently no prerequisites for further price reductions, according to the Institute of Agricultural Economics.
In July, fresh-harvest vegetables became significantly cheaper in Ukraine, especially potatoes, carrots, beets, cabbage, and cucumbers. At the same time, some fruits, berries, and greenhouse vegetables remain expensive due to the heat, storage costs, and seasonal factors.
