A soldier from the Skelya Regiment was taken into custody for assaulting a lieutenant colonel
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has imposed a pretrial detention measure on a soldier from the “Skelya” regiment who is suspected of assaulting a military chaplain and a lieutenant colonel in the Kharkiv region. He has been remanded in custody until September 7 without the right to post bail.
According to the investigation, in May 2025, during a conflict, the suspect struck the chaplain in the face several times. The victim suffered a concussion and a broken jaw.
Another incident occurred in June in Barvinkove, where, according to investigators, the soldier assaulted a lieutenant colonel, causing a broken rib.
The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) reported that investigators are also looking into other possible instances of violence, threats, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and failure to provide medical care to servicemen of the regiment.
