Due to the drought and low water levels in Chernivtsi, water will be supplied on a scheduled basis
From September 24 to October 1, water will be supplied on a scheduled basis in Chernivtsi due to a prolonged drought and reduced water intake limits. The restrictions will apply to most of the city.
Water will be supplied from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. At other times, water pressure will be reduced, or water service may be temporarily suspended.
“This is due to the prolonged drought and the decision by the State Agency for Water Resources of Ukraine to reduce the water withdrawal limit for our city. To use available resources efficiently and ensure a stable water supply during peak hours, water will be supplied according to a schedule,” the city council’s announcement states.
Between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., water pressure in the system will be reduced, or water service may be temporarily suspended. During this time, reservoirs will be filled with water to ensure supply during peak consumption hours.
The schedule will apply to most of Chernivtsi—a total of more than 70 streets and alleys. At the same time, Ruska Street and the Kalichanka and Rogizna neighborhoods will continue to receive water as usual.
