Four police officers have been suspended from duty in connection with the "porn office" case

The leadership of the National Police of Ukraine has suspended four officials from regional units who are implicated in a bribery case. An internal investigation has been launched into their conduct, and personnel decisions will be made in the near future based on its findings.

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation in this criminal proceeding is currently being conducted jointly by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General. The National Police assured that they are fully cooperating with the investigation to establish all the circumstances, and that purging the system of dishonest employees and taking a tough stance against corruption remain key priorities for the agency.

During a large-scale special operation, law enforcement officers detained five participants in the corruption scheme, including heads of regional departments of the National Police of Ukraine.According to the investigation, the suspects were involved in “protecting” the activities of models on internet platforms featuring explicit content. In exchange for various sums of illicit benefits, the officials, according to law enforcement, guaranteed their “protégés” immunity from liability for distributing illegal content.

Among the suspects are the head of the Main Department of the National Police in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, his deputy, the first deputy head of the Main Department of the National Police in Ternopil Oblast, and the deputy head of the Main Department of the National Police in Zhytomyr Oblast.
