Dobrov, a former official at the Odessa Court, was sentenced to 7 years for bribery

Pavlo Dobrov, the former acting chairman of the Kominternovsky District Court of the Odesa Region, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for accepting an illegal benefit.

The court found that Dobrov had received nearly 50,000 hryvnias in bribes. In exchange for this money, he promised to facilitate a decision granting a civil claim in favor of a citizen, as well as to ensure the enforcement of a previously issued order to produce evidence.

The defendant was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—acceptance of an unlawful benefit by a public official.

In addition to a 7-year prison sentence, the court barred him from holding any positions in state or local government bodies for 3 years.

All of Dobrov’s property will also be confiscated.

Semen Kryvonos, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and Oleksandr Klymenko, Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, reported during a briefing in Kyiv on new corruption schemes in the “defense sectorthat undermine the country’s defense capabilities and destroy competition.

NABU Director Semen Kryvonos stated that pressure is being exerted on the judges hearing the case of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov.
