In Marganets, as well as in the Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovsk communities of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the centralized supply of drinking water has been cut off for several days due to an accident on the main water pipeline. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced this on August 6.
According to him, the situation was caused by the accident on the water main, as well as the delayed and inadequate response from the responsible officials. The prime minister stated that “stern conclusions” would be drawn regarding this matter in the near future.
Koretskyy reported that he had heard a briefing from the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, and representatives of the relevant ministries.
“I have set the task of implementing urgent measures that will accelerate the repair of equipment on the main water pipeline, ensure the supply of industrial water, and deliver drinking water to the local population,” Koretsky said.
The prime minister also noted that Infrastructure Minister Mykola Kalashnyk has been coordinating efforts to restore water supply since yesterday.
For his part, Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Head Oleksandr Hanzha reported that an emergency response headquarters is operating in the region and repair work is ongoing.
According to him, Pokrov has already been supplied with non-potable water. In Marhanets, eight wells providing drinking water are operational, and additional storage tanks for water distribution are being installed in various parts of the city.
In addition, more than 33 metric tons of bottled drinking water have already been delivered to the Chervonohryhorivka community with the support of humanitarian organizations. Deliveries are ongoing.

As a reminder, in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast, power and water outages occurred following explosions on August 5 and during the night of August 5–6.
The temporarily occupied cities of Alchevsk and Perevalsk in Luhansk Oblast were left without centralized water supply due to accidents on the water pipeline. The occupying authorities have not indicated when water service will be restored. This was stated on August 2 by Oleksiy Kharchenko, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration.
