The Cabinet of Ministers is working to secure additional funding for the military

The Cabinet of Ministers is working to identify additional sources of funding for the Ukrainian Defense Forces through the end of 2026. In particular, the government is counting on assistance from international partners.

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced this on August 9. According to him, the meeting addressed the current need for funding for the Defense Forces through the end of the year. Koretskyi noted that the government will work to secure additional resources, particularly through international support.

The meeting was attended by Acting Minister of Defense Yevhen Khmara, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhovskyi, and Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Rustem Umerov.

At the same time, the government is working on drafting the state budget for 2027.

The need for additional funding arises amid significant defense expenditures, particularly for the procurement of weapons and the provision of supplies for military personnel. The government plans to cover part of these needs through international financial support.

Koretsky also emphasized that the taxes citizens pay to the state budget continue to be directed toward the needs of the defense sector.

Koretskyy announced this on Facebook.

As a reminder, following the massive Russian attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region, the government will hold an emergency meeting with business representatives. According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky, the Russian strikes damaged not only residential buildings but also logistics complexes, manufacturing facilities, stores, and other infrastructure that serves millions of Ukrainians every day.

The government has estimated the potential losses to farmers resulting from the blockade of ports.
