Hackers are demanding a $400,000 ransom for ATB customer data they claim to have stolen
The "ATB" supermarket chain may have fallen victim to a cyberattack by hackers who claimed to have gained access to the official website's database and disabled the company's mobile app. To prevent the leaked information from being disclosed, the hackers issued an ultimatum demanding a payment of $400,000.
The ransom note appeared directly on the chain’s official website. The attackers claim to possess the data of customers and website visitors; however, there is currently no independent confirmation that the entire database has been compromised or that personal information has been leaked. Information regarding the scope of the incident requires further verification and official clarification from company representatives.
