Cold weather in Ukraine is expected to last until the end of April
Cool weather will persist in Ukraine through the end of April due to the prevalence of northern air masses.
This was reported by Natalia Golenia, head of the meteorological forecasting department at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to her, no significant warming is expected in the near future.
“So far, according to today’s calculations, there won’t be much warmth until the end of April. Northern weather patterns will prevail until the end of the month, so it will be cold,” the meteorologist noted.
Temperatures will depend on cloud cover:
- with heavy cloud cover — from +5° to +9°
- during clear spells — from +9° to +13°
The expert also noted that sudden cold snaps are possible in April, sometimes accompanied by wet snow.
“It’s hard to say whether that will happen this time. But the fact is that even in the second half of April, we are not immune to the intrusion of cold Arctic air, and precipitation could come in the form of wet snow,” Golenia explained.
According to her, such weather phenomena have been recorded even in early May in historical observations.

After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.”
