U.S. companies are ready to invest in Ukraine's defense technologies and joint production, says Zelenskyy

Leading U.S. companies are ready to increase their investments in Ukrainian defense technologies and launch joint production.

According to the head of state, he held talks with the leadership of more than 30 leading U.S. companies, as well as with members of the Economic Advisory Group.

The central topic of the meeting was the assistance Ukraine needs to get through the winter and strengthen the country’s resilience.

Zelenskyy reported that the parties agreed on new projects in the defense and energy sectors.

“There will be new investments in defense technologies and joint production, and agreements have also been reached on joint projects in the energy sector. Strengthening our resilience in various sectors is the main task for the state and our partners ahead of the winter season,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

Separately, during the meeting, they discussed the creation of a sovereign wealth fund, insurance against military risks, and financing mechanisms available to American investors.

The President thanked the American companies that are already cooperating with Ukraine and expressed hope for the further expansion of such projects.

“We greatly appreciate everyone who is already cooperating with Ukraine, and we expect that such partnerships will only grow. Thank you!” the head of state concluded.

Thus, Ukraine and American businesses plan to deepen cooperation in several areas—from defense technologies and joint production to energy, war risk insurance, and investment financing.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram after meeting with representatives of American businesses in New York.

Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement with the United States in the field of drone defense. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may do so this week in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly; however, the finalization of the agreement may be postponed to a later date, when the U.S. side is ready to sign.

In Kyiv, officials are proposing to allocate an additional 2 billion hryvnias from the city budget to support Ukraine’s security and defense forces. At the same time, the draft resolution seeks to establish defense as one of the capital’s budget priorities and to allocate at least a quarter of the available balance—which will be formed by early 2027—for these needs.
