An FSB agent who collected coordinates of Ukrainian air defense systems was convicted in the Kyiv region
In the Kyiv region, a court sentenced an FSB agent to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for passing on the coordinates of air defense units protecting Kyiv to the occupying forces.
According to the investigation, the convicted man is a 36-year-old serviceman who deserted his military unit and was hiding in Fastiv.
Law enforcement officials determined that Russian intelligence services recruited the man after he sought part-time work on Telegram channels.
Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the agent in December 2025 at his place of residence.
The investigation revealed that, following his remote recruitment, the agent initially carried out so-called “test” tasks assigned by his Russian handler.
Specifically, he:
- painted provocative slogans on government buildings;
- set fire to public property;
- set a military vehicle on fire.
Later, the man was tasked with identifying the positions of Ukrainian air defense systems so that Russia could adjust its missile and drone strikes.

To do this, he secretly photographed the area with his smartphone and transmitted the images along with their geographic coordinates.
During searches, law enforcement officers seized a cell phone containing evidence of his collaboration with the Russian intelligence service.
Based on evidence provided by the SBU, the court found the defendant guilty of:
- Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—treason committed under martial law;
- Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—intentional destruction or damage to property;
- Part 4 of Article 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—desertion.
The court sentenced the FSB agent to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
Earlier, the SBU exposed a resident of Zhytomyr Oblast who, according to the investigation, agreed to cooperate with Russian intelligence services for $100. The man was gathering information to plan attacks on energy infrastructure facilities in Kyiv and Zhytomyr Oblasts. The court ordered him to be held in pretrial detention without the possibility of bail.
In the Donetsk region, Russian agents were detained who were coordinating strikes on Kramatorsk and Lyman.
On July 27, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the exposure and detention of two FSB agents who, according to the investigation, were preparing a series of terrorist attacks in the Kharkiv region. One of their objectives was an attempt to carry out a mass killing of Ukrainian military personnel under the guise of a “charity” party.
As a reminder, on July 27, the Security Service of Ukraine reported on the results of the latest week of its 40-day operation to reduce Russia’s military and economic potential.
On the night of July 25, long-range drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine attacked Russian military facilities in Rostov-on-Don and in the Caspian Sea.
