Nastya Kamenskykh attributed her return to speaking Russian to physical problems

Singer Nastya Kamenskykh stated that she had decided to return to speaking Russian on the recommendation of her psychologist, who claimed that her body was putting up internal resistance. According to the artist, the deterioration of her voice coincided with her switch to Ukrainian, although a direct link between these factors remains her subjective assumption.

Kamenskykh explained that after the start of the full-scale war, she did indeed speak only Ukrainian for about six months. However, she claims that it was during this period that she began experiencing problems with her voice. During a concert tour, Kamenskikh was allegedly diagnosed with a cyst, which caused her to lose her voice and forced her to postpone performances. After that, the singer sought help from a psychologist. According to Kamenskikh, the specialist advised her to return to speaking Russian, since her body allegedly “did not accept” Ukrainian. The artist believes in psychosomatics and considers that a person’s psychological state can affect their physical well-being.

The artist also stated that she considers the language issue in Ukraine to be overly politicized and a subject for manipulation. In her opinion, Ukraine should fully transition to the Ukrainian language; however, she personally wishes to choose the language for her daily communication and creative work on her own. Touching on the topic of patriotism, the singer described herself first and foremost as a “patriot of her family” and condemned the use of the concepts of “patriotism” and “Motherland” for manipulative purposes.

This was discussed in the singer’s interview for the “Tell Gordeeva” project.

Ukrainian singer Nastya Kamenskykh has been in a relationship with rapper Potap for many years; according to widespread rumors, she allegedly broke up with him this year. In reality, it was a PR stunt.

Potap and Nastya Kamenskykh sparked a wave of outrage among Ukrainians after posting a humorous video about the Russian language and “freedom.”

Ukrainian producer and performer Potap found himself at the center of controversy after a failed joke about Maxim Galkin during the Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala 2026 festival in Latvia. Alla Pugacheva and her husband were present at the event, and the artists’ reaction to Potap’s remarks sparked a wave of discussion on social media.
