The National Bank announced the hryvnia exchange rate for May 22
The National Bank of Ukraine has updated its official exchange rates for May 22. The dollar rose by just one kopeck, while the euro remained unchanged. This is according to data on the National Bank of Ukraine’s website.
There were no sharp movements in the currency market—the hryvnia barely changed its position against major currencies. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the official dollar exchange rate rose by one kopeck on May 22.
The U.S. dollar is now trading at 44.23 hryvnia per dollar. The previous day, the rate stood at 44.22 hryvnia.
The euro remained unchanged this time. The official exchange rate of the European currency continues to hold at 51.30 hryvnia. Financial analysts note that the currency market remains relatively stable at the moment, with exchange rate fluctuations occurring within the usual daily range. “So far, the market is reacting calmly, without sharp jumps or panic,” say financial sector experts.

- 1 U.S. dollar — 44.23 UAH
- 1 euro — 51.30 UAH
Bankers also note that the cash exchange rate at bank teller windows and currency exchange offices may differ slightly from the NBU’s official rate depending on demand and region.
