Kryvets' security guards attacked a UP film crew near the Edem Kyiv complex
On the evening of July 9, a film crew from “Ukrainska Pravda” was attacked near the Edem Kyiv suburban complex in Kozin.
According to him, security guards working for businessman and former Member of Parliament Ihor Kryvets attacked the journalists while they were performing their professional duties.
Specifically, they doused a cameraman and a driver from “Ukrainska Pravda” with green antiseptic solution.
As Tkach noted, the incident occurred during a celebration taking place on the grounds of the Edem Kyiv complex. After the attack, the journalists filed a report with the police.
The National Police of Ukraine confirmed that a criminal investigation has been opened into the incident. According to National Police spokesperson Yulia Girdvilis, the information has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 1 of Article 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—obstruction of the lawful professional activities of journalists.
“Those who, due to one circumstance or another in this country, have come to feel like princes or other privileged individuals should remember that roads in our country are still public spaces and areas for general use. And obstructing journalistic activities has consequences under current law,” Mykhailo Tkach wrote on Facebook.
According to “Ukrainska Pravda,” the five-star Edem Kyiv hotel, located in the village of Kozin in the Kyiv region, is owned by Ihor Kryvets, who opened the complex in 2025.
Law enforcement officials are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident and conducting the necessary investigative actions.
The incident was reported by the publication’s journalist Mykhailo Tkach.
The Security Service of Ukraine is investigating Lviv businessman and former Member of Parliament Igor Kryvets, known in certain circles by the nickname “Pups.”
