Police conduct nationwide searches in hospitals across Ukraine: details
Ukrainian law enforcement conducts large-scale searches in medical institutions across the country over suspected misappropriation of budget funds allocated for patient treatment under state healthcare guarantee programs, the National Police of Ukraine said.
According to investigators, the case involves schemes using fictitious medical services and manipulation of data in the electronic healthcare system.
Preliminary findings suggest that total losses may reach hundreds of millions of hryvnias.
The investigative actions are being carried out by the Main Investigative Department of the National Police, the Department of Strategic Investigations, and regional police units in cooperation with prosecutors.





The Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the National Health Service of Ukraine are also involved in the investigation.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including:
- misappropriation and embezzlement of property
- abuse of power or official position
- official forgery
- interference with automated systems
- official negligence
- money laundering
The penalties include up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Investigative actions are ongoing, and all individuals involved are being identified. Authorities said additional information will be released later.
