The Security Service of Ukraine has formally charged, in absentia, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, who is believed to be involved in supporting the war against Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the official provided ideological, financial, and logistical support for the Russian aggression.
In particular, he regularly visited frontline areas and supplied the occupying forces with weapons, ammunition, and military equipment.
In one documented incident in 2025 in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, Trutnev delivered approximately 400 sniper systems and drones. He also supplied electronic warfare equipment to units of the Russian Southern Military District.
The investigation also established that his trips were accompanied by informational support from Russian propagandists, during which he publicly justified the war against Ukraine.
The official’s actions have been classified as aiding and abetting the waging of an aggressive war. He faces life imprisonment.
Measures are currently underway to place Trutnev on the international wanted list.
