Sybiga called on Europe to prepare for war with Russia

Russia is already waging a covert war against Europe, and the current acts of sabotage, cyberattacks, GPS jamming, and violations of NATO airspace may be part of a coordinated strategy by the Kremlin. This was stated by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.

He emphasized that similar tactics preceded Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in 2014 and 2022. According to Sibiga, Moscow first attempts to weaken the unity and resistance of nations, and only then moves on to open military aggression.

The foreign minister proposed three steps for European countries: to restrict entry by Russian citizens as much as possible, to sever trade and energy ties with Russia, and to dismantle Russian networks of influence in Europe.

In particular, Sibiga called for a trade embargo, tougher sanctions, the winding down of energy projects with Russia, the closure of “Rossotrudnichestvo” and “Russian Houses,” and a ban on Russian propaganda.

The minister stated that Europe must choose between making concessions to Moscow and resolutely countering its aggression. Ukraine, he said, is ready to share the experience it has gained in combating the Russian threat.

U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Moscow. The American delegation is set to hold talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin regarding an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

On the morning of September 5, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced new strikes against Ukraine. This announcement came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a ceasefire during the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump’s representatives—Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

A Russian attack on Wednesday destroyed a warehouse containing Philips-branded household goods and caused significant damage to the warehouse infrastructure of the company’s logistics partner in Ukraine.
