Russian agents who set fires in the cities of Dnipro and Odesa have been exposed

The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, has identified and detained two more agents of the Russian Federation who were responsible for arson attacks in various regions of Ukraine.

This was reported by the SBU press center.

According to the investigation, both suspects are local residents who agreed to collaborate with the enemy in exchange for monetary compensation. However, instead of the promised funds, they now face life imprisonment.

In Dnipro, law enforcement officers detained an agent of the Russian Federal Security Service who set fire to a BTS-4 armored evacuation tractor. The vehicle was located at a Ukrzaliznytsia station and was being prepared for dispatch to the front lines.

“The suspect also attempted to destroy a cellular base station using a flammable mixture in order to ‘cut off’ local subscribers from the network,” the SBU reported.

In Odesa, a 25-year-old man who had previously been convicted of theft was placed under suspicion. While on probation, he committed another crime—setting fire to Ukrainian military vehicles while acting on instructions from Russian special services.

As the investigation established, the suspect’s next task was to prepare a terrorist attack.

“It has been established that the suspect’s next task was to prepare a terrorist attack in the port city. To this end, the Russians instructed him to manufacture a homemade explosive device with remote activation,” the security service noted.

Law enforcement officers detained him immediately after the first car arson near his residence.

Currently, both suspects have been notified of charges under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including sabotage during martial law, obstruction of the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and intentional destruction of property.

The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail. The suspects face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Earlier in Khmelnytskyi, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who was planning to carry out a terrorist attack in the city center, according to the SBU press service. The explosion was to occur in a location where Ukrainian military personnel were gathered.

Prior to this, the Security Service of Ukraine prevented a terrorist attack in the capital and detained an FSB agent who was planning to blow up one of the leaders of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine prevented another terrorist attack in Kharkiv by detaining a married couple of Russian agents who were preparing an explosion in the city center.

Earlier in Rivne, a court sentenced a minor Russian agent who had planned a terrorist attack against Ukrainian servicemen to five years in prison.

As a reminder, the SBU detained a Russian strike coordinator targeting Chernivtsi.

The SBU also exposed a Russian intelligence network that was planning terrorist attacks using teenagers.
