In Kharkiv, a man armed with a knife attacked members of the Territorial Defense Forces; there are casualties
On June 26 in Kharkiv, during mobilization notification activities, a man attacked military personnel from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center with a knife. As a result of the incident, one soldier was killed, and another was wounded and underwent surgery. The attacker is being sought.
“In Kharkiv, while servicemen from the district territorial recruitment and social support center were conducting mobilization drills for conscripts, an attack occurred against representatives of the center,” the statement reads.
“After the leader of the notification team—a servicemember of the Armed Forces of Ukraine—identified himself to a civilian, the latter suddenly attacked him and other servicemembers with a knife. As a result of the attack, two servicemembers were wounded. One of them underwent surgery and is currently in the hospital. Unfortunately, the other servicemember’s life could not be saved: despite resuscitation efforts, our comrade died from multiple stab wounds,” the TCC reported.
As noted, the attacker fled after the incident. “He is currently wanted,” the statement said.
Law enforcement agencies are reportedly taking steps to locate the attacker and bring him to justice in accordance with applicable law.
