An FSB agent who was coordinating attacks on infrastructure was detained in Kropyvnytskyi
In Kropyvnytskyi, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a local resident suspected of collaborating with the FSB and coordinating Russian missile and drone attacks on fuel, energy, and logistics infrastructure. During the arrest, two hunting knives were seized from the man, which, according to the investigation, he was carrying in case he needed to resist law enforcement officers.
According to the SBU, the detainee directed Russian strikes against fuel and energy infrastructure facilities in central Ukraine.
“The Security Service’s counterintelligence unit detained another FSB agent in Kropyvnytskyi who was directing Russian missile and drone attacks on fuel and energy infrastructure in central Ukraine. During the arrest, two hunting knives were seized from the suspect, which he carried with him to resist law enforcement officers in case of exposure. “But SBU officers acted so quickly that the agent did not have time to use the weapons,” the SBU statement said.
A smartphone was also found on the man, which he used to photograph the outer perimeter of one of the local infrastructure facilities. According to the security service, he transmitted the photos and videos to his Russian handler.
According to the investigation, the man was unemployed prior to collaborating with the Russian intelligence service. He allegedly came to the FSB’s attention through Telegram channels offering “quick” money.
“As the investigation revealed, a local unemployed man recruited by the enemy was responsible for coordinating Russian shelling. He came to the attention of the FSB through Telegram channels advertising ‘quick’ money-making opportunities. Following instructions from the Russians, the agent traveled around the regional center and surrounding areas by taxi or bicycle to film potential ‘targets’ with his phone and report back to his handler in Russia. “The enemy was most interested in the coordinates of infrastructure and logistics facilities,” the SBU reported.
Law enforcement officials claim they exposed the agent at the very beginning of his collaboration. He was detained while conducting further reconnaissance near a facility that the Russian military planned to attack.
SBU investigators informed the detainee that he is suspected of violating Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—treason committed under martial law.
“SBU investigators informed the suspect that he is suspected of violating Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). The suspect is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. Comprehensive measures were carried out by SBU officers in the Kirovohrad region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office,” the security service stated.
The suspect is in custody, and the pretrial investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, the SBU exposed and detained a Russian agent in Kharkiv who was helping the enemy carry out strikes on Defense Forces facilities. The detainee was accused of coordinating Russian attacks on the city’s military facilities.
As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region as a result of an attack by the Russian Federation.
Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
