In Rivne, a pensioner died after falling from a seventh-floor window

In Rivne, a 68-year-old local woman died after falling from a window of a high-rise building. Police are preliminarily treating the incident as a suicide, although the woman did not leave a suicide note.

Maria Yustitska, a spokeswoman for the Rivne Regional Police, said the tragedy occurred on the morning of October 2 on Akademika Hrushevskoho Street.

At around 7:40 a.m., medical personnel notified law enforcement of the death of a woman who had fallen from the window of a high-rise building.

“At the scene, the investigative team determined that the 68-year-old Rivne resident had jumped from a seventh-floor apartment window. She did not leave a suicide note,” said Maria Yustytska.

According to the woman’s partner, he was sleeping in another room. When he woke up, he saw the kitchen window open, and the woman was lying on the ground near the building.

Law enforcement officials are currently investigating all the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Investigators have launched a pretrial investigation under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional homicide classified as “suicide”). The exact circumstances and causes of the 68-year-old Rivne resident’s death are to be determined as part of the investigation.

Earlier, in the Saltivsky District of Kharkiv, a three-year-old boy died after falling from a fifth-floor window of an apartment building. The tragedy occurred on July 19 at approximately 4:25 p.m. The child died at the scene from his injuries.
